August 01, 2003: Report published
Preparing Disadvantaged Youth for the Workforce of Tomorrow

Press Release

The Teens & Technology Roundtable embraces diverse stakeholders united in the desire to see information and communications technology harnessed to improve the lives of underserved youth particularly in workforce development. Our working assumption is that the public sector must work closely with business, private charities, the research community and nonprofit organizations to sustain fragile programs as well as to assess their social and economic impact.

Forty high-level representatives from the European Union, member country parliaments, business, cutting-edge research, the foundation community and nongovernmental organizations are invited to build a common transatlantic framework for collaborative work. The purpose of the convening is to share experiences and work toward collective action in improving the life chances of underserved youth with the effective use of digital technologies.
