Get Your Facts Straight!
The aim of the project "Get Your Facts Straight!" is to educate students and their parents and grandparents about disinformation and fake news on the internet and to provide them with measures to identify and deal with them. Therefore, a training will be developed that will take place during the ALL DIGITAL Week 2020 in the last week of March. In total, the young people as well as their parents and grandparents will participate in three modules (one module separately and a final module together) and test their knowledge against and with each other with quizzes.
The target group of the project are pupils from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds as well as their parents and grandparents. The nine project partners from Belgium, Croatia, Romania, Spain, Bulgaria, Latvia, Italy and Germany collect and analyse best practices from their countries in order to provide them with media competence on the subject of disinformation and fake news. Based on these results, a learning concept for a total of 15 hours will be developed and implemented in March 2020. The project has a duration of 18 months and is co-financed by the European Commission.
The training takes place in the annual ALL DIGITAL Week (formerly Get Online Week), which has been committed to digital inclusion and media literacy for years. More information about ALL DIGITAL Week can be found here.
Role of the Digital Opportunities FoundationThe Digital Opportunities Foundation is implementing the project in Germany. The training for young people and their parents and grandparents will take place in Berlin in the last week of March.
