The National Coalition Germany - Network for the Implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child addresses an open letter to the negotiating parties of the EU Regulation currently being discussed in the parliamentary procedure, as they do not see the rights and protection of children and adolescents in the digital environment adequately guaranteed despite the ambitious goals of the European legislative project. The co-signatories of the letter therefore call for the rights of children to protection, empowerment and participation to be included in the further negotiations on the EU regulation and thus to ensure that the primacy of the best interests of the child according to Art. 3 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is safeguarded in the digital environment.
