Dear supporters,
can you spot the mistake? Artificial intelligence (AI) is not without its flaws or prejudices.
Perhaps you have recognised it, the motif of this year's Christmas greeting was created by an AI. The name of our foundation was slightly affected by this. But AI does not always make it this easy for us to recognise what is true and what is not. The picture of the Pope in wearing a stylish white down jacket that made headlines this year was still fairly easy to recognise as AI creation – the choice of clothing, which reminded us of artists from the rap and hip-hop scene, was too unlikely. However, when it comes to 'fake news' or stereotypes and prejudices that have sneaked into AI training data, we need certain skills to recognise them.
Some of our projects have focussed on these issues this year and will continue to do so next year. You are welcome to gain an insight and use our collection of AI-related links to join us on our journey into the world of algorithmic decision-making systems. These, among other topics will continue to shape our work and the discourse on digital equal opportunities in 2024.
As the year comes to an end, we would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our partner organisations and supporters for their excellent cooperation. At the same time, we look forward to many new collaborations and exciting projects in the upcoming year.
Best wishes for the holidays and for all your projects in 2024!

PS: And in case you were wondering what the prompt (text command) is that was used to create the AI motif for our Christmas post, here's the answer: " Santa Claus visits the Digital Opportunities Foundation and is holding a tablet." (Created with Bing Image Creator)
