Project

The project DiKomBi – Digital Competencies and Lifelong Learning for People Aged 60 and Over promotes the acquisition of media literacy among older people in Schleswig-Holstein. In addition to expanding existing learning opportunities, the project develops practical and participatory educational formats using peer learning and train-the-trainer approaches. These formats are specifically tailored to the interests and learning needs of this age group.

Whether it's online banking, media libraries, or prompting AI – the weekly topic sessions (Themenstunden) explore a current digital issue from all angles and provide space for discussion. Those who not only want to learn but also share their knowledge can train to become a Digital Guide (Digital-Lots*in): In the eight-hour online course consisting of four modules participants develop a sense of self-efficacy, learn the basics of knowledge transfer, and practice practical application. During the consultation hour (Sprechstunde), Digital Guides and other multipliers can reflect on their experiences from their own workshops, discuss challenges, and share practical tips.

A key element of the project is the establishment of a strong media literacy network that ensures the long-term integration of educational offerings and fosters collaboration between educational institutions, social organizations, and civil society.
