Aim of the project

“A Life without the internet? No, I cannot imagine that." For most young people the internet is a fixed part of their daily lives. Writing E-Mails, shopping, booking trips and deal with administrative tasks: All that has been done online by many people and for some years now. But only since the personal profile on the internet has become a part of people’s own identity and social relationships are tied to and maintained on the net, the ‘social web’ has become indispensable for a large number of people.

The one-day training ‘Inklusive Internet’ qualifies workers in social work and non-formal education positions who pass on the competent use of the internet and Web 2.0 to their target groups. At the centre of the project were people with a migration background, persons with disabilities, senior citizens, people in rural areas as well as relatively uneducated and socially disadvantaged adults and youths.

The training campaign ‘Inklusive Internet’ was conducted as part of the initiative ‘Internet erfahren’ (Experience the Internet) of the Ministry for Economic Affairs from April 2010. Until the end of 2010 the Digital Opportunities Foundation completed as many as 120 trainings nationwide.
